Top floor,
under the roof
One hundred and fifty square metres on the fifth and top floor. Through the middle the apartment is tall and open; towards the outer walls the ceilings follow the slope of the roof. Every room has a window, and every bedroom has blackout blinds.
Porta Venezia and its restaurants begin a minute from the front door. Five floors up, you do not hear them.

One thing to know: the lift stops at the fourth floor. The apartment is on the fifth, so one flight of stairs is left. Worth planning for with heavy luggage or limited mobility.
The building
Sixty-eight metres
of façade
Casa Galimberti is one of the best known Art Nouveau buildings in Milan. Giovanni Battista Bossi built it between 1902 and 1905: sixty-eight metres of façade in fired painted ceramic, floral motifs and eighteen human figures. It has been a listed building since 1965, under the Soprintendenza, the Italian state heritage authority. The apartment is behind that façade, on the top floor.

Self-guided walk
The architect who built your building
Bossi put up four palazzi within a quarter of an hour on foot from this front door. I drew the map and wrote the walk: four stops, half an hour, free for anyone.

Porta Venezia is one of the most central parts of Milan, and one of the few where you eat and drink well on your own street. Corso Buenos Aires is two minutes away, the Giardini Montanelli five, the metro three. The Duomo is three stops. Almost everything else you can walk to.

Before you book
The questions I get most often. If the answer is here, you do not need to write.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 10:00. You let yourself in with your own codes, which you get before you travel, so you can arrive at any hour, including the middle of the night. If nobody is leaving on the morning you arrive, early check-in is usually possible: just ask me.
Is there a lift?
Yes, up to the fourth floor. The apartment is on the fifth, so one flight of stairs is left. Worth planning for with heavy luggage or limited mobility.
Is the city tax included?
Milan charges a city tax of €9.50 per person per night, and guests under 18 are exempt. It is never part of the rate you see when you book. On Airbnb the platform collects it with your payment. On every other channel, direct booking included, I work it out separately and you settle it before you arrive, through a secure payment link.
Can I leave my luggage before check-in or after check-out?
Luggage can stay in the apartment during your stay only. For the hours before check-in or after check-out there is a partner luggage storage a few minutes away, and I send you a discounted link: useful if you land early or fly out late.
How many people can actually sleep here?
Six adults across three double bedrooms, plus two infants. There are two travel cots with mattress and duvet, one high chair and children's tableware.
Smoking and pets?
No smoking inside the apartment, and no pets. The building is residential, so I also ask you to keep the volume down in the evening.
